It would be very nice to quickly flag a task as important via a "/" command, like other formatting options.

Have you tried using exclamation points prior to the task itself like:
* !! This is an important task
A number of themes will pick that up and highlight it in various shades of red.

Barry McBride Yes, I have. Thanks for the comment. The issue is I often am at the end of the line when I want to flag it, so I prefer not having to navigate back to the beginning of the task to add it.

A quick "/" after I finish typing the task would be very helpful.
