Keyboard shortcut for moving items to Today
Inspired Earth
I've realised the most time consuming non-productive activity I do in NotePlan is the dragging and dropping of items from past days to the Today note. It's a routine procedure that requires extensive use of the trackpad / mouse, which as we know is an inefficient way to do such things.
I would like to suggest introducing a keyboard shortcut for this highly repetitive and routine action. It would greatly reduce the time it takes to review our day notes and move incomplete items to Today.

Great idea. I have had the same thought. An extra tweak would be to have multiple options, such as “move open task to tomorrow” (as we now have from the … menu) & also “move selected to (select date)”.

Very true. I have the same workflow. Usually at the end of the day I check of done items and move remainders into the next day. So a bit different in terms of target day. But a shortcut for move open tasks into > calendar popup would be great.

There is a "Schedule to Today" menu item, so its easy to map a shortcut to it. However, that's not the same as "Move to Today".
For that the only current option is my Dashboard plugin, which makes this very much easier ... and of course much else besides.

Jonathan Clark Thanks for your thoughts on this. Yes, I agree that Dashboard (which I'm now taking a more thorough look at, after installing it months ago and relegating it to the too-hard-for-now basket).
I'd still like a shortcut for moving items to Today. Also, this wouldn't be limited to just tasks. Any item would be moveable this way, such as they are by drag-and-drop.
