My daily notes (or other notes) can become cluttered with lots of tasks. I rely heavily on sections (#, ##, ###…) to group related tasks and other notes. This is great for organizing and planning.
When I switch to "execution mode" to actually do my tasks, I use folding to fold/close all sections other than the one I'm working on right now. This helps me focus on the task at hand, without getting distracted (or feeling overwhelmed) by the many other tasks I have captured (but are not relevant at that moment).
I'd like to suggest adding a "focus" view option that would temporarily hide all other sections from the current view.
For example, say I'm working in my "## Pay Bills" section, with tasks like "
Water bill" and "
Car insurance". Toggling focus view would show "## Pay Bills" and all the subitems in that section, but hide all items outside of that section — i.e. any other level 2 or level 1 sections.
The focus "view" could be considered sort of like a search result view, where there is only one search result — the entire contents of the current section of the current note.
This could be NotePlan's equivalent to OmniFocus's "focus" feature.
Thank you for considering! Any features that help with "focusing" especially help those of us who (cough) have trouble focusing, and would be icing on the cake for anyone without such challenges (who I envy!). 😁
